This accumulated sewage forms puddles and creates foul smell, hence sewage management is important to prevent the spread of diseases. Domestic and public level cesspools\/magic peat\/seepage pits, stabilization ponds for villages with population of 5000, diwali for villages with population of more than 5000, drains and closed drains, small bores, public cesspools, stabilization ponds, constructed wetlands, divats, phytoreeds, aeration of large ponds, drains\/sewers etc. are the works done under sewage management. In villages with population up to 5000, Rs. 280\/- per person for sewage management and in villages with population of more than 5000, Rs. 660\/- per person for sewage management is permissible for sewage management in each revenue village. As per the instructions given in the government decision of 21 November 2021, there is a provision to spend 30 percent of the amount of work done by the Gram Panchayat from the grant received from the 15th Finance Commission.
