Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY)

  • Purpose :
    • Reducing maternal and child mortality.
    • Increasing the rate of women giving birth in government health centers.
  • Beneficiaries: All pregnant women belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and below poverty line
  • Nature of benefits :
    • Rs. 500/- if the delivery takes place at home.
    • If the delivery takes place in a government or government-approved health center
      • In urban areas -Rs. 600/-
      • In rural areas – Rs. 700/-
      • In case of Scissors Rs. 1500/-
    • The benefits of this scheme are provided to the bank account of the pregnant woman through DBT, PFMS.
  • Required Documents:
    • MCP card and RCH number
    • Bank passbook of a pregnant woman
