Retirement Pay Branch: To scrutinize and approve the cases of employees who have retired after completing 58 years of service in case of Class 3 and 60 years in case of Class 4 under the Maharashtra Civil Services (Pension) Act, 1982, as well as those who have retired in other ways, to issue orders for payment of retirement pay, and to handle revised pension cases.
There is a delay in submitting pension and pensionable benefit cases at the level of Account Head and Group Development Officer. In order to avoid delay in sanctioning pension and pensionable benefit to pensioners and family pensioners and to expedite the disposal of cases, the Finance Department has started the process of sanctioning pension through a computer system with the help of a computer expert for sanctioning pension cases from July 2021.
