Providing two-wheeled bicycles to school-going girls

Nature of the scheme The benefit of the two-wheeler cycle scheme will be provided to girls from rural and remote areas whose distance from their residence to school is at least 2 km.
Objective of the scheme Girls from economically weak families who go to school should be able to reach school on time, have enough time to study, and be encouraged to pursue education.
Beneficiaries of the scheme E.g. Girls studying in 5th to 12th standard.
Nature of benefit To purchase two-wheeled bicycles for school-going girls, deduct 10 percent beneficiary share and transfer the amount approved in the procurement committee meeting to the bank account of the concerned beneficiary.
Eligibility criteria Priority will be given to girls from rural and remote areas whose distance from their home to school is at least 2 km.

After the beneficiaries are exhausted as per No. 1, benefits will be given to the students living at a distance of more than 1 km. E. Girls studying in 5th to 12th standard.

Required documents Completed application form, Aadhaar card, proof of local residence (e.g. ration card), Poverty Line Number and Certificate or Income Certificate from Tehsildar, Gram Sabha resolution copy if in tribal area, copy of bank account passbook

Application methods Submit a fully filled application to the Child Development Project Officer through the Anganwadi worker, submit all the applications collected at the district level through the Child Development Project Officer to the Women and Child Welfare Committee for approval.
