Jawhar taluka is located 70 km east of Palghar district. Most of the population of this taluka is tribal. Most of the area of ​​this taluka is covered with forest and hilly valleys. The geographical area of ​​the taluka is 85806 hectares, out of which 7000 hectares are under paddy cultivation, 4900 hectares are under rice cultivation, 4300 hectares are under rice cultivation, 2403 hectares are under rice cultivation and 843 hectares are under rice cultivation. Mogra is supplied to the Mumbai market every day from this taluka. There is a Khadkhar dam in the taluka. Hanuman Point-Jawhar, Sunset Point Jawhar, Dabhosa Waterfall, Kalmandvi Waterfall, Dombzhara are known as tourist places. Also, Khandoba Yatra Jawhar, Vijayadashami Utsav Jawhar, Shiv Mandir Yatra Balkapra and Devtali Yatra Jamsar are held in this taluka. In Jawhar taluka, there are Khanderao Temple Jawhar, Hanuman Temple Jawhar, Ram Temple Jawhar, Mahadev Temple Jawhar, Ambika Mata Temple Jawhar, Shiv Temple Balkapara, Ram Temple Kadachimet, Vitthal Temple Jawhar, Swami Samarth Temple Jawhar, Shani Temple Jawhar. The taluka has a large number of tribal communities such as Warli, Konkana, Katkari, Dhorkoli, K. Thakur, Mahadev Koli, Malhar Koli.
