Jawhar's Famous Royal Urus With A Tradition Of 573 Years

Jawhar: Jawhar State has a six-hundred-year-old lineage. The ancient history here is very inspiring. Tribal kings have ruled this state for generations, and the citizens have been provided with many basic amenities, which have been enjoyed by the royal family for the last four generations. The Urus of this state, which is very ancient and inclusive of all religions, is celebrated with great joy and devotion. This year, the Shahi Urus, which has a tradition of five hundred and seventy-one years, will be celebrated in the Islamic manner with a grand program of sandals, chadar, langar and qawwali. Ayub Pathan, president of the Muslim Jamaat Urus Committee, said that the local Muslim Jamaat Urus Committee, the Municipal Council and the police administration have made great preparations for this.

Jawhar city is mentioned as a natural wealth that is considered as Mahabaleshwar of Palghar district and Mini Mahabaleshwar of the state. But more than the mention of Mahabaleshwar itself, the mention of Tumdar city, which has a glorious background of the state, is a matter of pride for all Jawharkar citizens. Since this city has received royal patronage, many good traditions and customs have been continuing here for a long time. If we want to mention it specially, it is the famous Urs of Jawhar. Muslims and brothers of all religions have been celebrating this Urs in unison for generations. It is also recorded as an excellent example of national unity.
This Urs of Hazrat Auliya Shah Sadroddin Badroddin Chisti, whose original tomb is located in Pimpri Sadroddin, a village in Igatpuri taluka. The Urs is celebrated jointly on the 20th day of any Urdu month falling in Marathi Bhadrapada and traditionally one day before in Jawhar. This continues even today through lineage.
At this time, devotees come from places like Mumbai, Palghar, Tarapur, Dahanu, Nashik, Vasai etc. While dignitaries from Jawhar, Muslim brothers and all religious people attend this Urs in large numbers. The date of the Urs of this dargah is taken from the dargah in Pimpri, Igatpuri, according to knowledgeable people.
